The vision we adopt as the TED University Department of Psychology is to position psychology not merely as a discipline that explains human behavior, but also as a “hub science” that connects diverse fields of knowledge. In line with this perspective, we aim to cultivate an academic environment that promotes interdisciplinary interaction across a broad spectrum ranging from cognitive sciences and neuroscience to sociology, economics, and artificial intelligence. By closely following contemporary scientific developments in both teaching and research activities, our department seeks to contribute to the development of students as critical thinkers who are inquisitive and productive.
Our undergraduate psychology program aims not only to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the fundamental concepts and theories of psychology, but also to equip them with a strong methodological and analytical foundation. Within this framework, our students gain hands-on experience in essential academic skills such as research methods, data analysis, and scientific writing. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application in a balanced manner, our program supports students in becoming not only consumers of knowledge but also producers of knowledge.
In addition, our department offers students a multidimensional developmental environment through which they can prepare for diverse career paths. Among our priorities is to equip our graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively engage in various professional settings, including academia, the private sector, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations, alongside pursuing postgraduate education. In this regard, fostering individuals who are sensitive to ethical values, possess a strong sense of social responsibility, and are capable of applying a scientific perspective to real-life problems constitutes an integral part of our core mission.
