Dr. Buse Merve Ürgen, faculty member of our department, made a presentation titled "A recursive cortical model that can explain the neural and behavioural effects of expectation on perception processes" at the 1st National Neuroimaging Congress (NGK 2023) and 2nd Joint German-Turkish Symposium on Human Neuroscience held at the Neuroscience and Neurotechnology Excellence Joint Application and Research Center (NÖROM) between 7-9 September 2023.
MINISTRY OF YOUTH AND SPORTS GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF PERSONNEL PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT STUDIES IN-SERVICE TRAINING PROGRAMME
TEDU Psychology Department Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ilgın Gökler Danışman provided training on "Working with Children and Adolescents in Disaster Areas" within the scope of the In-Service Training Programme on Psychosocial Support Activities organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports between 4-7 September 2023 for mental health personnel who worked in the field after the 6 February Earthquakes.
In addition, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ilgın Gökler Consultant and Assoc. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ilgın Gökler Consultant and Research Assistant Sevi Gizem Zeybek conducted "Support to Employees" groups for the employees of the Ministry.

Deniz Okay, Lecturer at our department, successfully defended her thesis entitled "The Unbearable Heaviness of Nonbeing: The Path from Crisis of Meaning to Meaningfulness During Bereavement" conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Özlem Bozo at METU Institute of Social Sciences and was awarded the title of "Doctor".

CHILD POLICY DOCUMENT DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP
In cooperation with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and UNICEF, a series of workshops were held in June to prepare an "Ankara Integrated Children's Policy Document" for Ankara in order to further develop and sustain child-focused short and long-term action plans and strategies, and to strengthen them with the opinions and suggestions of internal and external stakeholders.
Our Head of the Department of Psychology, Assoc. Prof. Ilgın Gökler Danışman attended the external stakeholder meeting on 8 June and the Draft Policy Document Workshop on 23 June as a guest of ABB.

We have prepared a handbook within the scope of our project titled "e-Gen (Equality Generation) Module for Young Men in High School", which is carried out by Kadir Has University in cooperation with Critical Masculinity Studies Initiative (EEİİ) and supported by the Consulate General of Sweden in Istanbul.
In this handbook, there are materials prepared with the perspective of Critical Masculinity Studies that can be used by psychological counsellors and guidance counsellors working in high schools to raise awareness of young men at high school level on issues such as gender equality, peer bullying, dating violence.
On 28 January 2023, Saturday, between 14:00-16:00, we invite everyone who is interested in this subject, especially professional experts, to our online introductory meeting.
