Laboratories

 1. Applied Psychology Unit and Research Laboratory

    Clinical Psychology Practice Unit:

In the observation and interview rooms in this unit, undergraduate students carry out practices for the relevant courses and receive feedback on these practices. Students of Developmental Focused Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology Master's and Clinical Psychology PhD Programme apply psychological test and assessment methods, make observations, conduct psychotherapy sessions and receive supervision. In addition, research and practice studies focusing on family life cycle, crises and psychological adjustment, loss/bereavement and psychological trauma are carried out within the unit.

     Cognitive Psychology Laboratory:

One of the main fields of study of the laboratory is "real life cognition research", which basically aims to understand how cognitive processes work in real life. In this context, experiments on human memory and cognitive system are conducted in the laboratory and our students can participate in these experiments. In addition, qualitative data-based research and questionnaire applications are also included in order to examine the effects of remembering real life events on psychopathology more deeply. Studies conducted in this laboratory include autobiographical memory and psychopathology, attachment and memory, trauma and memory, emotion and memory, social memory. One of the researches conducted in this laboratory was supported within the scope of TÜBİTAK 1001 and 3 of them were supported within the scope of TED University Scientific Research Project. In addition, 9 SSCI indexed scientific articles have been published and 24 international and national conference papers have been presented.

2. Disaster Resilience and Preparedness Laboratory:

Qualitative and qualitative research on social resilience and preparedness for disasters.
is a social psychology laboratory where quantitative research is conducted. The laboratory is staffed by academicians and undergraduate and graduate students from different universities. It is aimed to contribute to disaster risk management activities aimed at reducing the damages of disasters, especially earthquakes, through various national and international collaborations where both psychology-oriented and interdisciplinary research is carried out.

3. Social Psychology of Gender Laboratory

It is a social psychology laboratory where research activities on gender-related issues are carried out. Academics, undergraduate and graduate students from different universities take part in the laboratory. Within the laboratory, various research activities are carried out using qualitative and quantitative methods on topics such as masculinity, fatherhood, gender roles, honour culture, social movement and social norms, violence, regret about sexual intercourse from a gender equality perspective.

4. TED University Emotion Laboratory

It was established in the spring semester of 2021-2022. In the laboratory, quantitative research is carried out on topics such as the social effects of schadenfreude and the development of standardised materials for the experimental study of basic emotions. In the laboratory, academicians from various sub-fields of psychology and undergraduate students/graduates of the psychology department carry out their studies.
